| Middle School
Middle school level includes
grades 7, 8 and 9. At this stage Middle Years Program (MYP)
is introduced. The material given at this level is sorted
into different categories.
- Students of Grades 7, 8 and 9 (international section) follow
a program which is a combination of the American, German and Middle eastern International baccalaureate program.
Highlight the approach followed
in teaching the following subjects:
- Languages: language is a means of communication
that students use to express themselves. Choose not to be
limited by textbooks and introduce novels instead. Through novels
students will be able to master the language and will
be introduced to different themes and new concepts. With the
philosophy oriented nature of the subjects, students focus
on the study of life rather than addressing languages as an
academic subject only. As for grammar, it will be contextualized,
and extracted from the novels that are given. Having English
as a study of life, we do not teach it as an entity separate
from others. However one tends to integrate it with all subjects
modifying it by interrelating it with Social Studies in all
its forms to Science in all its forms.
- Scientific subjects: Sciences have four
categories Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. These four
subjects are taught in parallel and with the same importance.
The main concern in these subjects is experiments and hands
on activities. Since science is the study of nature and life,
choose to extract examples from real life through which students
would apply their knowledge. As for Math, the same approach
is followed. Relate math to real life so that students can
use it in their daily practices. Students also take a course
in Technology at which they learn the know-how and creative
processes that may assist people to utilize tools, resources
and systems. Students learn to solve problems, to enhance
control over the natural and man-made environment in an endeavor
to improve the human condition.
- Humanities: Students also take social studies
and civics where they would be cultured and prepared to the
official exams in grade 9. As for the High School program
students do take Social Studies in English, which prepares
them for the subject in Grade 10.
